Cementing

WellPro cementing units have been designed and manufactured by Wellpro for local conditions and regulations, to complete onshore cementing jobs from primary casing to plug & abandonments. It offers the smallest operational footprint in the sector featuring:

  • Density Control: The cement units include a mechanically driven recirculating, high energy mixing system which provides excellent slurry density control and slurry consistency over a wide range of densities. Density accuracy: ± 0.1 ppg
  • Mixing Capabilities: Slurries with densities over 14.5ppg can be mixed at rates exceeding 4 bbl/min and higher water content slurries can be mixed at rates exceeding 7 bbl/min.
  • Dust Free Mixing: The high energy slurry mixing system is fully enclosed which allows for dust free operations and prevents dust escaping to atmosphere between the mixing system and bulk delivery tank.

Primary Casing

Primary casing jobs involve the installation of steel casing into an oil or gas well to protect the wellbore, stabilize it, and prevent contamination between subsurface formations. The casing provides structural integrity and serves as a barrier to isolate different pressure zones. This process is crucial for the safe and efficient extraction of hydrocarbons, as it maintains wellbore integrity, prevents fluid migration, and allows for effective well control.

Remediation

Primary casing jobs that require remediation typically involve issues such as incomplete mud displacement, poor cement bonding, or insufficient cement coverage, which can lead to fluid migration between subsurface zones. Remediation efforts, like squeeze cementing or wellbore cleanouts, are necessary to restore zonal isolation and well integrity. These operations aim to fix leaks, strengthen weak cement bonds, or fill gaps, ensuring the well can be safely and efficiently operated without compromising its structural integrity or the environment.

Laboratory

Laboratory testing plays a critical role in oilfield cementing operations and planning by ensuring that the cement slurry is designed to meet the specific conditions of the well. Tests such as rheology, thickening time, compressive strength, and fluid loss help optimize the cement formulation for temperature, pressure, and subsurface formation characteristics. Proper lab testing ensures the cement’s durability, performance, and compatibility, reducing the risk of cement failure, improving well integrity, and enhancing the long-term success of the cementing job.

WellPro’s cementing laboratory is equipped with everything needed to guarantee a flawless cement job execution.
