WellPro’s Lightweight Microsphere-based cement slurry as part of our advanced technologies allows for the creation of low-density slurries as low as 10 ppg while having the same set mechanical properties of conventional slurries mixed at their traditional densities.

Our Microspheres are engineered hollow spheres for use as a density reducing agent for oil and gas cements slurry designs. These low-density slurries with microspheres avoid the multiple staging that is commonly used in wells which require a long column of cement, where weak exposed formations will not support the hydrostatic head during cementing or as an economical alternative for cementing wells that pass through low fracture gradient zones.

How it Works:

Apart from their high strength and low weight, they have very low shrinkage, which enhances the cement formulation. The bubbles are easy to handle and are chemically benign. This makes handling and blending them very easy.

One of the advantages of using the product is the consistent quality of the bubbles because they are a nonporous engineered product, easy toformulate and therefore produce consistent and stable slurry properties.
